What stays on your devices
Recordings, match logs, scores, team names, rosters (player names and numbers), statistics, highlights and settings are stored only on the phone or iPad running the app. The two apps exchange scores and rosters with each other directly over Bluetooth. None of this is sent to AW Labs. It leaves your device only when you choose to: saving to Photos, sharing a file, or using the Files app.
The camera and microphone are used only to record and stream the match you're filming. Photos access is add-only and used only to save videos you export.
YouTube API Services
CourtHD uses YouTube API Services to stream to your YouTube channel. By using these features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
When you tap Connect YouTube and sign in with Google, CourtHD:
- Accesses your channel's ID, name and profile picture, to show which channel you're connected to and to open that channel in YouTube Studio.
- Creates one reusable live stream on your channel, and uses its ingest address and stream key to send video.
- Creates, reads and ends live broadcasts on your channel, with the title and privacy setting you choose, only when you tap Go live, Create broadcast, or End broadcast. It also deletes a broadcast that never went live.
- Updates the description of a finished broadcast with the match result and chapter times. This happens when it ends (you can turn this off) or when you tap Update description.
It does not upload other videos, read your watch history, subscriptions, comments or analytics, or post anything else.
What is stored, and where
- Google's sign-in token and the stream key are kept in the iOS Keychain on the device. The short-lived access token is held only in memory.
- Your channel's ID, name and picture address are cached on the device and refreshed each time the app opens.
- The current broadcast's ID, title, privacy and start time, and the ID of each broadcast a match was streamed in, are stored on the device in the match's log, so chapters can be timed and the replay can be linked from the match.
This information is used only to provide these features. It is not sent to AW Labs or shared with anyone other than Google, which receives it as part of each request to YouTube. It is never sold or used for advertising.
Removing access and deleting data
In the app, Settings → YouTube account → Disconnect revokes CourtHD's access at Google and deletes the sign-in token, stream key, cached channel and current broadcast from the device. You can also remove CourtHD's access at any time from your Google Account at security.google.com/settings/security/permissions. Deleting a match in Past matches removes its log, including any broadcast IDs. A recording keeps its own copy of the log, which is removed when you delete the recording. Deleting the app removes everything it stored. Broadcasts and videos on your channel are yours, and you manage them in YouTube Studio.
Google API Services User Data Policy
CourtHD's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs follows the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Purchases
CourtHD Pro is bought through Apple's in-app purchase. Apple handles the payment; we never receive your name, payment details or Apple Account. The app asks the App Store on your device whether a purchase is active, and keeps on the device a count of the free uses of Pro features. Neither is sent to AW Labs. Apple's handling of purchase data is covered by the Apple Privacy Policy.
Cookies and device information
The app sets no cookies and does not collect device identifiers. Google's sign-in page is shown in a secure browser sheet and may use Google's own cookies, under Google's privacy policy.
People you film
What you stream or record, and who appears in it, is your responsibility. Make sure you have the permission your league, venue and local law require, especially for minors. YouTube's "made for kids" setting is available under Broadcast defaults.
Children
CourtHD is a tool for the adults who run a team's camera. It does not knowingly collect personal information from children, and it sends AW Labs nothing at all.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted on this page with a new date.
